7 Online ESL Platforms You Might Not Know That Are Hiring in March

Hi guys,

It’s that time of the month again where I share a few online teaching companies that are currently hiring. I know a lot of people reading the blog are either just starting their TEFL journey or looking to add another platform to their schedule, so this month I focused on smaller companies you might not have heard of yet.

These aren’t the big marketplaces like Preply or Cambly. Instead, they’re smaller schools and platforms that regularly recruit teachers and can be a good way to build up your online teaching hours.

LingoAce

LingoAce is a Singapore-based platform that teaches English, Chinese and maths to children aged roughly 4–15. It’s grown very quickly over the past few years and now has thousands of students across Asia and the US.

Classes are usually 25 minutes long and the curriculum is provided, so there isn’t much lesson planning required.

Typical pay is around $14–$20 per hour depending on experience.

    How to apply

Go to the LingoAce teacher recruitment page and submit an application with your CV. If your application is shortlisted you’ll usually be asked to record a short teaching demo video or complete a demo class. After that there’s a short onboarding process before you can start opening teaching slots.

This one is a good option if you enjoy teaching children and prefer having structured lesson materials provided.

    Twenix

Twenix is a smaller platform that focuses on business English for professionals, particularly in Spain and across Europe.

Lessons are 26 minutes long and very conversation focused. Teachers usually work with adult students who want to improve their English for meetings, presentations or everyday workplace communication.

Pay typically ranges from around $8–$16 per hour depending on experience and location.

      How to apply

You can apply through the Twenix website by submitting a short application form and your CV. If selected, you’ll be invited to complete a short interview and demo class. Once accepted, you simply set your availability and the platform assigns students to your schedule.

This is a good platform for teachers who prefer working with adult learners rather than young children.

      Fluentbe

Fluentbe is a Polish online language school that mainly teaches European professionals and adult learners.

Classes are usually small groups of one to four students and the company provides lesson materials. Many courses focus on business English or workplace communication.

Pay is typically around $10 per hour depending on experience.

        How to apply

Applications are submitted through the Fluentbe careers page. The process usually involves submitting a CV, completing an interview and teaching a short demo lesson so the team can see your teaching style.

This one is a good option if you like teaching adults and prefer structured courses rather than open tutoring marketplaces.

        eTalk International

eTalk International offers online English classes and speaking clubs for teenagers and adults around the world.

A lot of their lessons are discussion based, which makes them feel more like guided conversation sessions rather than heavily structured lessons.

Pay can be around £15 per hour depending on the program and schedule.

          How to apply

To apply, you normally submit your CV along with a short introduction video. If shortlisted you’ll be invited to an interview and asked to run a short trial lesson.

Teachers who enjoy conversation practice and discussion based lessons often find this type of platform a good fit.

          ETalking Online

ETalking is a Taiwan-based online English school that works mainly with adult learners, particularly professionals studying business English.

Students often take longer courses and may stay with the same teacher for multiple lessons.

Teachers typically earn around $12–$15 per hour, sometimes with additional bonuses.

            How to apply

Applications are usually done by sending a CV to the company’s recruitment email. After that there’s normally an interview followed by a demo lesson.

This platform is worth considering if you prefer teaching adult students and want more consistent long term learners.

            Global Legend

Global Legend teaches English, reading and phonics to both children and adults, mainly for students in China and Canada.

It’s a smaller company but they recruit teachers throughout the year.

Typical pay is around $12 per hour depending on experience.

              How to apply

The application process usually involves submitting a CV and introduction video through their website, followed by a short demo class.

This can be a decent option for teachers who enjoy working with a mix of different age groups.

              English To Go

English To Go is a UK-based online ESL school that works mainly with school age students.

Pay can vary quite a bit depending on experience and availability, but it can range anywhere from around $17 to $50 per hour for experienced teachers.

                How to apply

You can apply through their recruitment page by submitting a CV and a short teaching introduction video. If selected you’ll normally complete an interview and a demo class.

If you’re starting out with online teaching, it’s usually better not to rely on just one platform. Many teachers work across two or three different companies so they always have bookings even if student demand changes on one platform.

If people find these monthly posts useful I’ll keep doing them. Next month I’m thinking about sharing a list of very small ESL platforms that most teachers have never heard of, as well as companies that hire teachers without degrees.
